At the risk of stepping on Chad Dotson's toes, I just caught the end of Forrest Gump on TNT, in one of its three-day marathons.
If you're not choked up by the poetry of this fine performance by Tom Hanks (with other great performances by Mykelti Williamson, Robin Wright Penn, and Sally Field, a breakthrough performance by Gary Sinise; and a very young Haley Joel Osment), you have no heart.

good movie
I watched it also and had forgotten what a great movie it is. Tom Hanks' performance may be the best I've ever seen, particularly when he is introduced to his son. Absolutely amazing.
That's my favorite moment, too, mitch. It's a reminder of the essence of fatherhood: the devout hope that your children will be better than you are.
