The sage of Baltimore, H.L. Mencken, is purported to have observed something to the effect that "Democracy is the theory that the public deserves to get what it wants, and good and hard, too."
For some reason, that quotation has been floating around my head for the last few days.

Great quote to have floating around in your head....especially now.
What I do find interesting, however, is that at least the people that were interviewed during the celebrations were not excited about a change in policy but a societal change.
I guess if forget about reason or responsiblility, I might agree with them.
