Jim Webb --- Man of Courage

Interesting. Opened my Pot. News this morning to find an ad from the National Right to Work Committee, a sister organization to the one for which I work, about the impending Senate race.

It notes that Democrat candidate Jim Webb has refused to answer the Committee's survey on Right to Work issues.

Doubtless secure in the knowledge that answering the survey would: (a) if his answers demonstrate support for Virginia's working men and women, offend his far-Left moonbat supporters, and dry up all of that forced-dues money driving his campaign; or (b) if his answers demonstrate his contempt for Virginia law and for Virginia's working men and women, demonstrate that he has crawled into bed with his far-Left moonbat supporters, he has simply chosen to not answer it.

Oh, what a courageous man that Jim Webb is! Chalk this one up in the same vein of his association with John Kerry (whose hand he wouldn't shake for twenty years, until he thought that Kerry could help him achieve high elective office) and Bill Clinton (whom, Webb once correctly observed, had the most corrupt presidency in modern American history).

Aside from running the sleaziest campaign in Virginia history, Virginians should consider that a man who wants to tout his courage and independence has behaved like a wet noodle in the presence of those who lead the Democrat Party.

Should we really expect more if he is actually elected?

When I first saw this, I thought you wrote "national workers committee", which I think is the communists.

But they ENDORSED Webb.

Instead of trashing the man for not answering your survey (such personal offense -- do you just feel really, really important all the time?) why didn't you take a look at what he has said on the occasions when he's addressed union workers?

Webb has stated that he supports Virginia's right to work laws, but that he also supports the rights of workers to unionize and present their grievances and, you know, do all that other stuff they're supposed to be allowed to do under federal law, in all it's tattered remnants after years of Republican evisceration.

As for his allegedly negative campaign, that wasn't him, it was your boy Allen, who's got to be one of the stupidest and shallowest politicians around. Now there's a guy who always says what he thinks the people in power want to hear, and he certainly believes the only people who should have the power are the rich and the corporate.

The negativity has been from the media and people clambering to get on the anti-Allen bandwagon. Payback's a pain, ain't it? Webb is on record REFUSING to discuss Allen's supposed racism, refusing to condemn him for saying macaca (although charging him with bullying for using it on a 20 year old only guy of color at the rally), and refusing to talk about personalities.

Webb has gone on record attacking Allen's policy positions -- fair game, wouldn't you say? -- and has responded to Allen's despicable and somehow prissy attacks on Webb's novels. I guess the tiny passages he read (since he hasn't actually READ the books) sent poor George into an attack of the vapors.

Allen never talks about issues. Look at his ads and tell me what issues he raises, unless it's the make-believe "Webb Will Raise Your Taxes" issue and the "Webb Hates Marriage" issue and "Webb Hates Girls" issue which have been the focus of his scurrilous and scandalous campaign. He lies when it suits him and smears when the lie isn't enough. With his attacks on Webb's novels, which are acknowledged works of literature considered so realistic in their portrayals that they are recommended reading for military officers, Allen has stooped to a slimy level impossible for him to rise above.

I dare you to print this comment. Let's see if you have the courage you believe Webb lacks.

Too funny.
Webb WOULD be part of the Democratic block in the Senate and one of their two first actions would be NOT renewing the tax cuts (you know, the ones that have led to a reduced deficit, record stock market highs and record unemployment?)
He would also be lobbied heavily to withdraw troops from Iraq. I lost a nephew there in September, so there is family blood on YET ANOTHER foriegn shore protecting the liberties of YET ANOTHER people who should have their standard of freedom elevated to at least the amount that you and the rest of the nmoonbats enjoy here, having never really served or laid your life on the line in pursuit of other's freedom.
Yes, I served as well. My family has a long history of putting our lives on the back burner and doing what is right.
You, evidently, have a long history of being critical of those who actually step up, and I've yet to see a democrat offer anything (like another plan)but crying about the current plan.
