It is old notion, not with a Biblical basis, that we are punished for the sins of our parents. The problem is that none of us have the wisdom or the insight to easily know which of our "punishments" is for which of our parent's sins, if any.<br /><br />I don't think Marshall claimed that he has any special insight.
